Indonesian independence day in The Cave of Grubuk
Independence Day commemoration ceremony for every nation, certainly is the momentum that has deep meaning. Various interesting and unique expression even would be born from the event. One of the things that must be expressed surely rekindle the spirit of nationalism and its value for the whole nation and citizens.
Similarly with the 64th Anniversary of Republic of Indonesia Independence day, which falls on August 17, 2009. One of the unique things that are born from these events is the things that doing by approximately 110 people and nature lovers of Indonesian. They held a flag ceremony to commemorate 64th Anniversary of the Independence Day in the Cave of Grubuk, Semanu, Gunungkidul District, Province of Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY). 
The Grubuk Cave is a cave with a vertical depth of 95 meters from the ground. The Grubuk cave is known as one of the caves with beautiful ornaments in Indonesia. The ceremony participants chose this cave because it was considered challenging and adrenaline triggered. Inside the cave, the participants lined up like a flag ceremony, while "Sang Merah Putih" (the red and white flag) hoisted followed cave hole using the ropes that usually used by mountain climbers.
Dozens of people who follow the ceremony was the search of the cave which came from all over Indonesia. The Independence Day Commemoration and flag raising ceremony in this cave is a routine activity that carried out once every two years by the lovers of nature and caves searching in Indonesia. Unfortunately, not many local residents who took their time to visit this cave, because they assumed that the cave has a dark history for them.
